Farmers and their coffee project is an initiative being funded by OXFAM NOVIB (Netherlands) to mobilize and support West Nile coffee farmers and their organizations to sustainably improve the quality and quantity of their coffee, as well as the value they receive from it.
The project is aimed at creating demand from small holder coffee farmers and different stakeholders in the West Nile region of Uganda to work together as farmers associations and cooperative unions.
Under this project AFCE Uganda has successfully implemented a number of programmes such as;
- Promotion of Climate Resilient Agronomy Practices
- Promotion of Pro-Poor Coffee Value Chain
- Establishment of Community Coffee Nursery Beds
AFCE Uganda works in partnership with OXFAM and NOVIB as financial sponsors to implement the West Nile Value Chain project for the years 2017 – Date in the Districts of Nebbi, Arua and Zombo.
